ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

The Annual “Grandpa Miles” Golf Tournament is named in honor of U.S. Army & National Guard Veteran, George Miles, Sr.

Service To Country Runs Deep in the Miles Family, 3 Generations Deep:

  • George Miles, Sr.’s son, George Miles, Jr. served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

  • Grandson Robert, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1995-2008 in numerous locations across the world.

  • Grandson Matthew, U.S. Army and National Guard (Operation Iraqi Freedom 2002-2005, Operation Enduring Freedom 2005-2010).

Matthew Miles recognized the many needs of our Veterans and decided to do something about it. That is why Rochester Community inclusive Rowing (RCiR) has been named by the Miles Family as the beneficiary of the tournament proceeds. By providing any and all Veterans with access to therapeutic rowing, RCiR is especially able to support those in recovery from service related challenges, be they physical and/or mental health challenges.

Your participation in the Annual “Grandpa Miles” Charity Golf Tournament helps keep access to this vital service free to our Veterans.
